We Were Promised Jetpacks
We Were Promised Jetpacks banda de rock indie, formada en Edinburgh, Socia en el 2003. Su primera presentación fue en la batalla de bandas de su escuela que ganaron y fueron descubiertos por un promotor. Luego de esto se mudaron a Glasgow para perseguir su carrera musical.
"There was a time when we first moved to Glasgow (we grew up and went to school in Edinburgh, then three of us moved to Glasgow and one of us to Stirling) and started playing proper gigs in proper venues. Playing in Edinburgh before was weird as we were underage, so ended up playing some odd nights. Which was cool, but when we moved to Glasgow we were of drinking age and we started playing places like Sleazy’s and whatnot. We felt like a proper band."[2]
Para el 2008 estaban compartiendo escenarios con Frightened Rabbit y sacaron su primer disco con FAT CAT RECORDS.
Han recorrido los USA y Europa una sola vez y en el presente trabajan en su 3er disco.
